kallend 2,150 #1 November 7, 2012 Geeks: The "Eject/remove hardware" icon has gone AWOL from my Win XP taskbar. How do I (a) restore it, or (b) achieve the same outcome in an alternate way. The online help was unhelpful.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
regulator 0 #2 November 7, 2012 I would say if the following doesnt work then you have issues with your USB host controller. Just download the updated driver for the USB host controller and go into the device manager and uninstall usb host controller. Then reboot into safe mode and install the newly downloaded driver. http://www.raymond.cc/blog/restore-missing-or-disappeared-safely-remove-hardware-icon/

As long as the drive is set to be "optimized for quick removal" you're fine. If it is an external hard drive and "optimized for performance" its a bigger deal."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
