Phillbo 11 #1 December 14, 2012 Because I want to wish you all a happy and most importantly safe Holiday season, I would like to share a personal experience with my closest friends about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the occasional social session - especially during the Holidays. A couple of nights ago I was out for an evening with friends, and had a couple of cocktails. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before. I took a cab home. And wouldn't you just know it - on the way home I passed a police road block but, since it was a cab, they waved it past. I arrived home safely and without incident - which was a real surprise because I have never driven a cab before and am not sure where I got it or what to do with it now that it's in my garage. Be careful out there.
theplummeter 15 #2 December 14, 2012 I used to deliver pizza for a national chain that used the annoying magnetic rooftop signs. On Thursdays after closing (often early), we would all go to a local bar that aired new episodes of South Park on a huge screen and drink ourselves silly for the hour or two that we had before closing time. Then we would all file back to the parking lot, remove the car top signs from trunks or backseats, plug them in to illuminate them, and space our departure times and/or driving routes so no one looked suspicious. Now there's something to brag about, I have always enjoyed treating children that are fatally injured and maimed for life by fuckhead drunk-drivers. Yeah, but jokes are always better when you tell them from the first person. I personally was offended by the grand theft auto story the original poster put up, but I decided just to roll with it. headoverheels 334 #6 December 14, 2012 The 18 year old daughter of a friend was in a car which was hit by a drunk driver, St. Pat's day 1.7 years ago. She now has brain problems, and will never be the same. The hospital bills were $750k. I decided that I don't want to be the guy that wrecks a lot of lives that way. The 24 year old neighbor was at BAC >2.0 at 7 in the morning, hit a 65 year old man that pulled out in front of him. Had he been sober, maybe no wreck. Had he been sober, the investigators would have at least tried to figure out whether the neighbor or the dead guy caused the wreck. I don't want to be that guy either. Even if he weren't in jail.
