Bi-lingual dogs?

Recommended Posts

Accursed language Nazis!

Many years ago, I moved in with my brother and his French-Canadian girlfriend.
When he spoke to their two dogs - in English - the dogs ignored him and shit in the house.
When his girlfriend talked to them - in French - the dogs ignored her and shit in the house.
BUT, when I spoke to the dogs in German, they sat, listened attentively and shit on the neighbor's lawn! It also helped that I took the dogs for more walks than the other two humans combined!

P.S. I doubt if the dogs ever heard German before I moved in.

Maltese Terriers ... but I only speak English ... while Italian and an Arabic dialect are the other two popular languages in Malta.
