The Bonfire... OK, an oven, to take away on your back.

Recommended Posts

XMas is around and it's time for what Germans call "Räuchermännchen" (incense smoker)
If ya don't like them Taiwanese knock-offs why not have Granny's multi-purpose oven/stove as a multi-tool for incense, fragrance oils or just as a small stove for your tea mug? Have a look.

Nah it's not bl00dy advertising it's just that I can't stand them Chinese/Taiwanese knock-offs nor them "German" products. These are really hand made in the woods of the Ore Mountains in Saxony. Bought one (of the Granny's multi-purpose stoves), works! And gets along with my Chanukkiah as well B|:P:) OK, the Chanukkiah is off-duty now, huh huh.

The thing I also like is the real oven to carry away with a backpack. If ya can't have or don't wanna have a real bonfire, ya know... Video is in German but should explain itself.

Hi Abedy

Merry Xmas

Thats a great stove, Got to like the portability and how easy it was to get the fire started.

We have been heating with wood for 14 yr's and our stove is anything but portable. 200 kilo's:(

But it is made in the U.S. and it even meets all the federal Gov't emission regulations for efficiency to reduce air polution.

We're lucky in some parts of the country wood stoves have been outlawed.

The oven needs to have a post-heating device (e. g. for tea pots etc) to raise its heating power (to 7 kW) so that it meets govt's standards on emission, especially CO2, if you want to install it as an oven in a house/flat. Not so if you use it in the open.

BTW: Lotta people here bought wood-burning ovens in the last year as oil got more and more expensive. Wood is still sort of affordable though its price has risen considerably within the last few years. Latest attempt of gov't: They are planning on making a fine-particle filter mandatory for all ovens and fireplaces. :S

Hi Abedy

Here's the link to thewood burning regulations in our area

http://www.pscleanair.org/actions/woodstoves/certifiedws.aspx

Firewood isn't free:o, even if you harvest your own it can be labor intensive and expensive unless you like you like using a axe.

Check out utube for info on firewood. If your in good shape it can be a good business to get into as long as you have access to the tree's.

We were talking with a lady who's husband is a logger is upstate New York. He's getting $50/cord split and delivered. In this area its $200-$300 a cord:o

We got all the tools the problem is finding the downed tree's in a reasonable driving distance. More demand than supply:(

I looked up some of the docs, tnx for the link, interesting.

One thing was amusing: "Electric heat - zero annual pollution" Heh heh. Only if one still believes that electric current "comes out of the power socket" :S
