It has plenty of lifting power. Did you notice the GPS antenna behind Snoopy?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. NewGuy2005 53 #7 December 24, 2012 I did not. So, is it a drone? Give us the details!
kallend 2,118 #8 December 24, 2012 Quote I did not. So, is it a drone? Give us the details! I suppose, in principle, it is a drone in that it will hover autonomously wherever you send it, and return "home" and land by itself. I cannot (at this time) program waypoints into it, however, nor do I have FPV video. In manual mode (GPS off) it is just radio controled like any other R/C model. It has six accelerometers (3 linear and 3 rotational), a compass and barometric altimeter on board in addition to the GPS, providing information to the controller.... JerryBaumchen 1,451 #9 December 24, 2012 Hi John, Did you build it from a kit, from plans, or did you design it completely from own brain? I might want to build one for a grandson. JerryBaumchen

JerryBaumchen Assembled from commercially available parts. The company that makes the frame and multi-axis sensor system is DJI. The instructions are in Chinglish so you'll need some help or do a lot of headscratching if you choose to make one.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
