Job Networking

Recommended Posts

Hey All!

So, this seemed to be the most appropriate forum for this as it is not skydiving related.

I am job searching because I want to get OUT of Michigan, preferably to a state further south where I can jump more than six months a year. Skydiving isn't my only motivation for relocating, but lets be honest, it is a big part of it :)
I currently work in an Analytical Chemistry Laboratory and would like to find work in a similar field. I have eight years experience, am the senior chemist in our organic chemistry department and would appreciate any help in networking/finding opportunities. I have been looking pretty seriously for the last two months, but haven't really found anything that is a good fit. I figured it wouldn't hurt to reach out to the skyfamily for a little networking help....

Anyone knowing of anything or have any leads, please feel free to PM me or get at me here.

Thanks to any and all help. Blue Skies!

I know of three people who found new jobs using LinkedIN in the past four months.
You have to follow a set of rules like "Keywords," "Accomplishments" rather than "responsible for," Do not create a dissertation for each job held. just a couple of keypoints that may hit a hiring manager or decision-makers hot button.... you get the idea.

It would appear that Internet networking is the new way to reach key people. Good luck
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

they call it chemical valley around where i live...around charleston wv there are several chemical plants, and at least one research lab at bayer in institute. i don't work there, but you could google the hr dept and get a resume to them. there is a dz at huntington and one in ashland, if you lived around teays valley that would be 30 min and 45-55 min drive there with a 20-30 min commute to work. we jump year round, but it gets(usually, not this year) colder around oct to mar, but not too bad.
