Krip 2 #1 February 19, 2013 Hi Folks We used to get a federal tax info booklet at the beginning of the year, including blank 1040's tax tables etc. This year we didn't get the booklet for 2012 tax's. Has the IRS changed something this year Or did my info booklet get jacked. We'll try the booklet from the local library with the required forms. I don't do with holding so always owe the IRS money at the end of the year and prepare my own tax returns, but we're hearing about a bunch of phoney tax returns being filed. So the Mcnasty 's can jack peeps tax refunds. Anyone hear about this and do I have to call God or the IRS to let them know. They have another problem. One Jump Wonder
billeisele 130 #2 February 19, 2013 Paper - who does this junk on paper anymore? If you have a simple return go online and do it for free using various tax software products. If you still want paper you have to request it. Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws. muff528 3 #4 February 19, 2013 If you really insist on mailing them, you can download any form or instructions you need from the IRS site as a pdf. Once downloaded, you can open the forms in Acrobat Reader and neatly fill them out and then save, print, sign, and mail them. If you must, you can print another copy for your files. Or you can just "e-file".

skymama 37 #7 February 19, 2013 My guess would be that they stopped mailing the forms unless requested because so many people e-file now. Depending on your income, you may be eligible to e-file for free. If you make too much money and need to purchase a program, you can get a discount if you have AAA. Or, as someone else posted, order the form you want. I don't think they have the forms at the Post Office anymore. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

I didn't know there was a fee. We have to use an accountant anymore. Rental property, home business, skydiving income, running a non-profit. . . when did I lose control of my life? JerryBaumchen 1,468 #12 February 19, 2013 Hi John, Quote You'd get your refund in no time. State refund arrived last week; expect the federal refund maybe next week. JerryBaumchen PS) Robert, I heard something to the extent that if your filing is somewhat complicated, that they have not gotten all of the new forms developed due to the recent changes in the federal tax code; which is the only one you need to concern yourself with. Stay calm; and there should be no rush if you owe them.

The form for home energy tax credits, for example, can't be filed electronically (or so TurboTax informed me). Ditto for the form if you have a foreign bank account....
