Darwin swings...and misses

Recommended Posts

Didn't look like 45 feet to me, looks more like 20-25 feet. I've dived from 45 feet into a lake and that looked higher than what this kid fell.

Then again, snow fucks up your depth perception.

At any rate, the kid is lucky he fell on a steep slope which helped mitigate the impact somewhat.

I'm reminded of the video of the stupid fucker trying to hit a bicyclist with the car door and falling out right into an oncoming car. Ouch. B|

From the video I estimated that he fell from 9.19 sec to 10.48 secs, which would give about 8,16 m/~27 feets of distance.
Your rights end where my feelings begin.

Yeah, I don't really call this a Darwin thing. Horsing around as a youth is what makes you a capable adult, he got bit and learned something without dying so I'd say that he did just fine.

I almost got killed a bunch of times in my teens and twenties. It certainly helps develop your good judgement. :S:D

If you survive it. It can also teach you...

-how to oporate a wheel chair.
-how to count the holes in the ceiling tiles of a hospital ceiling.
-how to use crutches.
-what happens when flesh starts on fire.

Life would be boring if you didn't temp the reaper every once in a while.

True... I more or less lived like that the first 38 years of my life. Now I'm a dad and life is never boring though but its just different.

Falling 9 or 10 seconds and only 27 feet? More like 971' to 1138'. I got 1.6 seconds which might be around 35 to 40 ft. As he was hanging on before he fell, I'm wondering what was going through his mind. Besides, "Oh,shit! Oh, shit!".

Can you imagine that possibly, just possibly, Arvoitus was quoting the time-code in the video to determine the unit of measure?
