wolfriverjoe 1,523 #26 March 3, 2013 Quote Anybody want a boatload of 8-tracks from the 70's?? Those 8-tracks can be worth something. Maybe not a lot, but something. http://voices.yahoo.com/the-value-old-8-track-tapes-price-vintage-1447743.html I have a Giant moutain bike I bought used about 15 years ago, rides great. I got a newer GT Backwoods with front suspension last year for $200 off of craigslist. I don't ride off-road, but the pavement condition around here makes suspension nice to have."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." BillyVance 35 #27 March 3, 2013 Quote Quote Quote Quote I still have my Diamondback road 21 speed bicycle and its 22 years old, but I haven't ridden it in 15 years. Still looks good, just needs a wipe down, trued wheels and its good to go. It cost me $350. When I was a kid, I had a beautiful Schwinn 18 speed road bike that got stolen. Man I was so pissed. Ended up getting a non-descript used 10 speed bike at a garage sale for $15. My Stingray is still in the basement at my folks house! Your parents are still alive?!?!? No unfortunately they are not...which means I have a huge house 1200 miles away, that I grew up in, full of cool stuff from LONG ago I'm going through a little at a time. Took a ride on my BSA Goldstar last summer, hadn't been on IT in years! Found a brand new L-88 short block with heads I forgot I bought 35 years ago...was in a big box with the 389 tri-power set up for my old Goat. YEARS of old Playboy Mags in great contrition... well...some of the pages are 'kinda' stuck together.Anybody want a boatload of 8-tracks from the 70's?? Damn... Now I feel like a shitbag for sounding insensitive. Sorry! As for the Playboy magazines, I know EXACTLY what you mean... my dad's got every damn issue going all the way back to the first issue. A huge variety of things they took interest in as 'empty nesters' ...the were old school and didn't throw much of anything out - might have a use 'someday'. Tons of my old parachute gear I'd forgotten about, Kinda of a time capsule for a baby boomer. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

The Company would send in movers to pack, label, load and move everything. When we were going thru his stuff, there were two boxes that were packed in 1969 that were never opened again. They went to Minneapolis, Superior, back to Minneapolis, then to Fond du Lac. Every time he moved, they just got tossed on the truck. Stumpy 284 #32 March 3, 2013 Its true - niche marketing in cycling ESPECIALLY mountain bikes, has got a bit silly. I'm a self confessed gearhead when it comes to bikes but even I will say a lot of the divisions are somewhat arbitrary. Road bikes haven't REALLY changed in years. The 10 speed I had when I was 10 was fundamentally the same as the ultra high end one I bought a couple years ago. Actually, even the material was the same! If you want to race competitively the latest and greatest may be important to you, but that's such a small number of people that realy need it. I bought a bike recently which has become my go-to bike for transport, because it does everything well, and you can set it up basically how you want. Road tyres. cyclocross tyres, flat bars, drop bars, fenders, racks, any and all are possible. Check it out http://volagi.com/bikes/viaje-xl-shimano-105 I got mine in the apex spec, and its basically set up as a cross bike, but I plan on putting racks on and going touring later this year.Never try to eat more than you can lift
