After the rent car AC went to seed Friday on my way to Fitz, there was 40 miles of construction and traffic, then the GPS that the rent car has (their own - called "Hertz Never Lost) took me to an abandoned building claiming that is where I was supposed to drop off the effing thing.


I do give huge props to United Airlines - they jumped through hoops and were very tenacious if not successful in getting me home tonight. Had it not been for an unGODly slow interchange between Sabre (I assume its Sabre) and United's assistance software - I would have made it.

I also assign blame to another party and there blasphemous ways. But that is a different story.

Home is just a pipe dream at this point and I am sitting at the Atlanta Chop House and Tavern having a nicely brewed adult beverage.

. . . any and all comers are welcome.

Alas, as the rain seems to be coming down in gallon sized drops - I assume I am stuck here alone until I go somewhere to sleep.

If I had known I would have stopped in. I almost went in there but when it wasn't Houlihan's I didn't go in. I am now sitting on my plane waiting for the lightening to clear so I can get home.

I have the exact same story as you except I made my flight with 3 minutes to spare. Even down to the detail that I walked by the Atlanta Steak and Chop House and thought "Damn I wish I had time to stop here!"

I didn't use the Hertz GPS I used my iphone and still got lucky to drive around and find the Hertz return.

I was pretty surprised by the traffic too, especially on Sunday evening. Also, and this is coming from an asshole driver from Massachusetts, drive in the right lane, pass in the left lane, you morons... WTF!

What's funny is at the Turkey Boogie in Z Hills in November I missed my plane...by an entire day.
