Amazon 7 #4 May 4, 2013 Quote Now THAT was a SWOOP!! Many years ago on a nice sunny spring day I was taking my 36' sloop down to the mouth of the Columbia River from Portland. As I was nearing the Longview WA to Rainier, OR bridge I watched a peregrine falcon obliterate a pigeon in mid air right under the bridge as the pigeon flew out from under the bridge. I had been watching the falcon circle up above the bridge and I saw it stoop over into a speed dive that I could love and when it hit the pigeon there was an explosion of feathers. Both of them continued downward for another hundred feet till the peregrine managed to begin gaining altitude with the pigeon dinner back to the nest up on the bridge. Memorable sight and sounds I will never forget.

oldwomanc6 60 #6 May 4, 2013 Wow! Makes me wonder how my two and a half pound cat ever managed to kill a red-tailed hawk! She also managed to survive a rattlesnake bite. She would attack anything! Her name was Sid. Sid Vicious. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
BillyVance 35 #7 May 4, 2013 Years ago I was walking between buildings at work and noticed something move like lightning out of the corner of my eye. A falcon dive-bombed a pigeon that was strutting around on the ground. I walked over to a line of shrubs on the other side from the falcon and peeked through. There it was, feasting on a mass of bloody pulp and feathers. It cocked its head to look at me for a sec, then went back to eating.
