3331 137 #1 May 11, 2013 Dropbox is flawed, don't use it. I have lost pictures on Dropbox along with several of my friends pictures. I deleted Dropbox from my PC. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving.
quade 4 #2 May 11, 2013 Every electronic storage medium is flawed. No matter what system you've devised, if it doesn't have back-ups, you're asking for trouble. I tend to think of Dropbox not as the ultimate archive, but as the ultimate cloud thumb drive. I can access it from anywhere, but it is by no means the only place a file is stored.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
sfzombie13 324 #3 May 11, 2013 now granted, i do not know how much it costs for a 500 gb dropbox account(you have to sign in for that), but i do know that a 500 gb portable hard drive costs under $100 for a decent one (i paid $90 for mine and it has lasted 3 years now). no internet connection required, you can take them anywhere, you can encrypt them, and you don't have to worry about anyone getting your files (as long as you don't lose it). i advise all of my customers to go this way, and recommend they get two (as you mentioned, they are all flawed) in case of failure. i know that a 6 ounce, 5" x 3" x 1/2" square is a lot to keep up with and takes up a lot of space, and it is quite the pain in the rear to do manual backups, so for the files you may need to access from elsewhere can be stored on a 32 gb flash drive for under $20 and fits on your keychain._________________________________________ Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes
