How to attach soft links

Recommended Posts

Hey- I'm setting up my new rig now (which I will of course have checked out by a rigger before I jump) but I want to hook up the canopy on my own.

How do I attach the soft links to the risers? Anyone have a good explanation? Thanks :P

If you ask, a lot of riggers would be happy to walk you through the process of hooking up your main to risers and to your container so you can learn the right way the first time.

Infact I highly recommend it for people when doing it for the first time.:)

Did you read the instructions?

Haha, for once I did... but in the manual it shows how to attach the steering lines to the toggle but not the soft links to the riser.

And Aggie, I'll go talk to a rigger once I get to the dz, but I'm sort of giddy/excited and want to see it all packed up now :P

Cool, a lot of people do what you did (saw your post before the edit).

If you have a packboy/powertool, whatever you want to call a metal bar packing tool, it makes running the Slink back through the lines the 2nd time a whole lot easier.

That sounds good... thanks Aggie!
