One Armed Skydiver Fundraiser for Parkinson's Awareness

Recommended Posts

Posted with permission:

We've raised so much over the last 2 events (100 Jumps, 200 Jumps efforts) and had a great time doing it. Both the National and MN Parkinson's foundations have benefitted greatly from the efforts.

Kevin is the real deal - He's been fundraising for a cure for years. This year is special - originally it was going to be the last year as the "300 Perfect Jumps - The Final Chapter". With Kevin's snowmobile accident, we had to push out a year. Kevin is stepping up now despite the set back and now - he'll be promoting the cure by making as many jumps in a day as we get.

It's worth checking out the story and contributing or volunteering. Check out the site and decide for yourself. We're so proud of our friend, but even so, the cause is also worthy.

Bill, how does he land the canopy with only one arm? This has to be very difficult to do?

it has something to do with a carabiner and a half dozen swedish bikini/sun tan lotion models

Best to attend the event to see for yourself

Event completed - thanks to those that contributed. And to those that still will in the next month or two. We broke a new record for Parkinson's research contributions.

150 solo skydives over a 17 hour period - all with one arm tied behind his back (ok - tied in front)

AND 1 jump at 151 as an 8way with video (I'm hoping someone links the vid to this thread ....... Skyjumpinfool)

When Kevin had both arms, he did 100 jumps, and then next event he did 150 (both low due to bad weather much of the day). This time, weather was perfect.

So - a personal best at 151 jumps in one day. And I think the previous (documented) record was something like 8 jumps or 10, for a one armed jumper in one day.....
