primetime 18 #3 June 25, 2013 The lawnchair balloonist had originally planned to take an oxygen system on his flight, but it was removed right before launch to lighten the load (along with his food, GPS and other gear). According to first reports, he still attained an altitude of 21,000 ft AGL. If so, the hypoxia must have been quite severe.
