airtwardo 7 #26 July 15, 2013 ryoder Something to consider: The TV station asked the NTSB for *confirmation* of the names, and an NTSB intern confirmed them. What we still don't know is where the TV station got the names. Ummmm.... ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
ryoder 1,590 #27 July 15, 2013 The most bizarre video you will see today. Really belongs in Billy's thread, but is on topic here: http://www.fark.com/vidplayer/7843104"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. DJL 235 #29 July 16, 2013 I'm going to go out on a limb and say the intern in question is friends with someone at the news channel and was making a little joke."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #30 July 16, 2013 billvon>Because it was that report, and obviously not crashing a passenger airliner into the >edge of the ocean that damaged their reputation. Their lawyer, Yu No Soo, will make it clear that all the damage to their reputation came from the malicious NTSB. He's been working on it for some time. And the defendants will be represented by Dewey, Cheatem and Howe, the law firm that sponsors Car Talk on NPR (listen to the close of their show for a whole list of these kind of names)."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." jacketsdb23 49 #31 July 16, 2013 Is it common practice in journalistic type professions to use place holders for unknown information...such as the three pilots names? Someone writing the bit maybe was having some fun with the names, until the actual names were known and they never got removed before the bit aired? The TV station could have called the NTSB with the actual names, but never removed the "private" placeholders used before the bit aired?Losers make excuses, Winners make it happen God is Good Beer is Great Swoopers are crazy. BillyVance 35 #34 July 17, 2013 The jokes have been running around on the Asiana flight crash, most of them bad... What do you call an Asiana flight crew? The Gooks of Hazard "RAAAAAAROOOOO!!!" (CRASH) Some newspaper reportedly referred to the Asiana flight as "Fright #..." needless to say, the Koreans were NOT happy. What do you call Asiana stewardesses?
