DrewEckhardt 0 #1 November 19, 2004 When packing a CYPRES equipped Reflex, Mick Cottle and my newest printed manual say that you want to have a dog-bone shape in the freebag with softball sized chunks of canopy protruding from the molar bag on either side of the safety stow. Where does the fabric come from and go to? The last few times, I made the S-folds somewhat longer than the open part of the molar bag, spread out the slider gromets, and rolled the middle covered by flap with grommets inward. My balls are more like racquet balls and the middle was a little fat. Do I just make that part of the pack-job longer and do the same, or what? How well can I eliminate the CYPRES bump ? masterrig 1 #2 November 19, 2004 If, the reserve parachute going into the free-bag is 'pro' packed, it takes a little work but, you can actually 'separate the folded canopy into 2-even halves. Once it is in the free-bag and the first two line stowes are made, start in the center of the packed parachute, at the mouth of the free-bag and push the material to the sides of the free-bag with your thumbs. You'll notice a hollow form between the two sections of folded material. Carefully, take the fat end of a packing paddle and smooth out the material and 'ears'. Use the paddle to push the 'ears' outward toward the sides of the free-bag to form a nice hollow for the pilot chute. You'll have to repeat these steps as the flaps are closed. Except for the 'ears' Reach your thumbs in and under the side flaps to keep the hollow between the ears. Before closing the bottom flap of the container, work the material again, at the mouth of the free-bag to maintain the hollow for the Cypres. Before I pull dowh the pilot chute, I'll reach in under the top and side flaps where they meet, with my thumbs and make sure, I still have a nice hollow for the pilot chute. I also use a compression strap on the pilot chute. Makes flipping the container much easier. Hope, this helps. Chuck
skydiver30960 0 #3 November 20, 2004 Search this forum... I had the same question about a year ago and had some really good answers from folks, including a couple of links with pretty decent pics, iirc. EDIT TO ADD: I think I know how to link to a thread, but it's easier for me to tell you to try a search for "elvisio reflex". When I did it, it was the only thread that came up.
