Nataly 38 #1 July 17, 2013 Just got my USPA licence in the post today and saw "years of membership: 10"!! Yikes!! If I had jumped at the same rate as my first year every year, I'd have about 2000 jumps by now... Hmmm... JohnMitchell 16 #2 July 17, 2013 I hear ya. My job and life slowed down my jumping some too. I figure I'd be closer to 9-10K if I could have kept my pre-FAA pace. But hey, I think I've achieved a balance somewhere. We really need to get you back in the air, N@.
BillyVance 35 #3 July 17, 2013 It happens. I got like 1000 jumps in the first 8 years, then 300+ the next 12. ZigZagMarquis 9 #5 July 18, 2013 I feel your pain. I used to do about 350-400 jumps a year and that was just as a "weekend warrior" fun jumper, no jumpmastering. Every weekend and holiday was spent at the DZ. I had one run of 4ish years straight where I did at least 1 jump every weekend. I had no whuffo friends and folks at work never even bothered to try to contact me on the weekends because I was always at the DZ. Then I got a little older, a couple of dropzones I called "home" closed up shop and I got more responsibility at work (read "stress") and now if I do a 100 or so jumps a year I'm doing good. I even had a 12 - 14 month "jump drought" a few years ago where I logged zero jumps. Growing up BLOWS! N@, you should get current. JM, I envy you. You're retired now, right? You should toss it all and move to the ghetto at Elsinore!
FlyingRhenquest 1 #6 July 18, 2013 Yeah, time flies when you're having fun. Doesn't seem that long ago I was starting my career, but that was in the '80's. That really WAS that long ago. I just started skydiving last year, so all that's still ahead of me. I just ordered a wingsuit, which should be arriving just about the time I'm ready to start flying on it. I'm looking forward to seeing where skydiving takes me. It's certainly been more rewarding than anything else I've tried to date.I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?

Nataly 38 #9 July 19, 2013 Iago ***Just got my USPA licence in the post today and saw "years of membership: 10"!! Yikes!! If I had jumped at the same rate as my first year every year, I'd have about 2000 jumps by now... Hmmm... Same here. I rarely do more than 30-40 jumps a year now, and those are mostly at exotic events and boogies. When I started I had a lot of free time and most of my (albeit small) income was disposable... When I moved to London time was an issue... Then money was an issue... Now it's a location issue (the nearest DZ is about 4-5 hrs away by car and I don't have a car)...
