Remster 30 #5 July 22, 2013 Nice dig during Froome's speech last night! I've got to say, unlike Evans and Wiggins, Froome's win had panache. He went for it hard in the mountain stages, even late in the game. As for the cleanliness... Who knows. I'm always suspicious when a great climber ends up also doing great flat TT's... jakee 1,595 #6 July 22, 2013 QuoteAs for the cleanliness... Who knows. I'm always suspicious when a great climber ends up also doing great flat TT's... It's not the whole story, but he does ride for a team with a huge depth of knowledge in aero-positioning from both track and road, and with a detail oriented approach that means they would not tolerate a rider who wasn't committed to utilising that knowledge to best effect. For just one example he's had Wiggins to learn from for the last few years, who has an aero position that is beyond compare within the peloton. It's hard to credit, but a lot of climber style GC contenders and teams are still unbelievably lackadaisical about training to ride a TT bike, and will lose seconds hand over fist for not having put the effort into optimising their postion for aero and bio-mechanical efficiency. Frank Schleck, f.e, was notorious for barely even touching a TT bike from one event to the next.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
