jrcrackers 0 #1 November 16, 2004 of all the features offered from every manufacture, which ones do you think set one rig apart from another. Kind of looking for dream rig answers such as I like X rig but really wish they offered Y option.
AggieDave 6 #2 November 16, 2004 Ah, you mean like this: I love my Wings, the customer service is amazing, the rig is easy to pack, bullet proof and very comfortable, BUT I wish they had the Skyhook. My next rig will be Micron with a Skyhook (most likely). I demoed a skyhook and was very VERY impressed.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." jrcrackers 0 #3 November 16, 2004 yeah, thats exactly what I mean. The skyhook is a big enough reason to switch from a rig you are very happy with. I agree it a pretty nice feature but, not having seen it in action or in person I not sure if it's enough to justify switching. I think I'm sceptical because of packing, should it come undone during packing your in the same boat as before.

Well, I'm not wanting to turn this into another Skyhook thread, so I'll be quick without detail. They (RWS) have added a step to help keep that from happening.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

I wonder how many more would switch if that were a bit quicker. (My wings container showed up 2 weeks early, a month after I ordered)
masterrig 1 #6 November 16, 2004 Saw the videos of the Skyhook and Bill Booth's narratives at the last Symposium. It'll sure get your attention! An amazing innovation. The Skyhook is a darned good reason to buy an RW rig! I wonder what, Mr. Booth will introduce at this years? Chuck
jrcrackers 0 #7 November 16, 2004 I'm going to the Symposium this year, my first (b) and I'll be looking for it and all the other rigs. That's the one complaint I have about being up here is I don't get to see alot of other rigs. We are pretty saturated with Infinity's for good reason. But I am looking forward to seeing the other rigs and particularly the stuff that will be introduced. To answer my own question I like my infinity. I would like to see cut in laterals and the hip ring located at the end of the stabilizer instead of below. I've manages to have my personal rig set up this way, but I would like to have it as an option others can get because I think it is really comfortable. masterrig 1 #8 November 16, 2004 I think, you'll really enjoy the Symposium. You'll get a chance to see all the new 'goodies' coming out and the manufacturer's are right there to visit with and ask questions of. There are exhibitions of packing as well as classes available covering topics from technical, skydiving, rigging and etc. You never know who you'll see there. It's a great 'show'! diablopilot 2 #9 November 17, 2004 I like my Infinity, but wish it had a spilt bag, velcroless pullout pud, multi articulated harness, and was as short as my Mirage.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. diablopilot 2 #13 November 17, 2004 Ouch! My Infinity is the most comfortable rig I've worn under canopy. I thought you guys were joking and having fun with me when it came to the "extra-long" chest strap, but the truth is I use almost every inck of it under canopy and it makes a difference.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. jrcrackers 0 #14 November 17, 2004 is it enough to compensate for the lack of chest rings? (real question)
diablopilot 2 #15 November 17, 2004 Wow, a hard one. YEs, but I wouldn't mind having the option of having them there to see if there would be more flexability.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. jrcrackers 0 #16 November 17, 2004 don't you have both for comparison??
diablopilot 2 #17 November 17, 2004 While I asked for my Mirage chest strap to be longer it's still not quite as long as that monstrosity you guys put on my Infinity (you know it's 26", right?)......I'm thinking about replacing the Mirage chest strap with one longer.....---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. jrcrackers 0 #18 November 17, 2004 I guess my question is do rings make the canopy spread enough of a difference to warrant the extra........? We gave Andy both and he's not round chested. His response was is did not make a difference. That is just one persons opinion, so now I'm askin yours.
diablopilot 2 #19 November 17, 2004 Lemme' think on it a bit. Did it get to 36? That's an interesting problem for a manufacturer to have. Great that you have such support, but the time can lead to a boom and bust cycle that's hard to predict the ideal staff size. Certainly doesn't make one think they'll rush to license out the skyhook technology.

jrcrackers 0 #25 November 18, 2004 I was hoping you were going to say that. I was thinking about that after you brought it up and was trying to figure out if the rings would help. I couldn't picture how they would but was curious for your feedback, thanks
