Tink1717 2 #1 September 9, 2013 So, lets get something straight : it's true I was born at night, but it wasn't LAST night. Granted, I'm not the most net savvy old fart around, but it's like you guys aren't even trying. I've been trying to sell a rig and the response has been, well, underwhelming to say the least. So far I've gotten three offers from Nigeria that want to give me 50% more than I'm asking if I'll just cut a check for the difference, two offers from Puerto Rico that were in all caps and read, word for word the same and one from god knows where who doesn't seem to know what exactly it is he wants. Come on, you can do better than that. I've seen all this from back in the 90's for shits sake! If you're gonna try to rip me off at least be original. Like the two offers that gave the same routine about "I found one cheaper, if you cut your price by $xxxx.xx, I'll still buy yours". They, at least had me going for a few days. Jeeze. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. (I never heard of you either!!) I was trying to sell mine earlier this summer.. what a PAIN in the ass. BIG PEOPLE rigs are just not that easy to come by... BUT if using an escrow service scares them off... then sorry but I am not interested in sending my expensive shit someplace without some backing from other people in the industry I trustwho are on the up and up I can't pay medical bills with false promises. grue 1 #3 September 9, 2013 Trust me, I feel your pain. 10 minutes ago the person who was supposed to be selling me an AAD this week just backed out and completely fucked me over and now I'm back and hunting again (which is a pain in the ass because the used AAD market is so competitive). Meanwhile, I can't jump because AADs are required here. FUCK.cavete terrae.

wmw999 2,559 #6 September 9, 2013 I was trying to sell a big guy rig for a friend earlier this summer (will have to go back to trying to sell it, too). Mostly honest answers, but damn -- people sure want a lot of information before deciding they don't want something after all. MikeJD 0 #7 September 9, 2013 Scammers are a plague, and unfortunately always will be as long as there are gullible people in the world. Thanks for not being one of the gullible people. Every little helps.

Mostly honest answers, but damn -- people sure want a lot of information before deciding they don't want something after all. And I thought the big guy rigs were super hard to find and easy to sell. One of my pet peeves in shopping for used gear are the ads that don't say what size person the rig was made to fit.

skydiver30960 0 #15 September 10, 2013 I was reading on one of the anti-419 sites that the scammers actually use crappy grammar and bad english on purpose. The thought is that it auto-selects the population they're scamming: they don't want to put effort into trying to scam reasonably smart people who will figure out down the road that they're getting taken. SO, make the original point of contact so obviously bad so that anyone who DOES respond to their request is probably stupid enough that they aren't going to catch on later down the road.
