This is all so wrong in so many ways, from what she did to how our society is so full of unmarried teenage moms. . . I totally agree. I mean, she's already had one child so I'm thinking the "shock" of laying the news of another pregnancy on her mom (because I'm "assuming" she's in a 1 parent home ) shouldn't be THAT great? What's the problem? Added expense to her household? Additional childcare? Pissing off the guy who got her pregnant? I'd like 5 minutes in the mind of a person like this. I have such a hard time wrapping my mind around suffocating a newborn miracle. Here's another doozy: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/would-be-nun-charged-baby-killing-article-1.1490274 A nun in training? She named her baby Joseph? OMG.. LuckyMcSwervy 0 #6 October 19, 2013 Andy9o8 Hey, how many dead babies does it take to steal a negligee? What, too soon? Dead baby in a bag, smelling of human decomposition. This girl is out stealing lingerie and make up? For what? To try to attract a guy, I bet. It's so damn sad how some kids have no self respect or fear of the consequences of their actions. I lived with a healthy fear of my parents (and teachers, coaches, etc.) and the Catholic guilt of burning in hell if I did something "wrong" when I was that age. I've worked in the court system my entire adult life and I've seen some truly horrid things no one should ever have to be a part of. Some days I'm totally hard nosed and cold to it and other days I can be upset/bothered by it for days/weeks. Always be kinder than you feel.

I just can't see how it's possible to hide a pregnancy. Or did she hide it from her family? Yeah, definitely parenting issues. But then again I've been told I have no right to speak of the way someone parents, or doesn't parent, because I have no children. Always be kinder than you feel. I don't want this to get moved to SC, so I'll phrase my comments carefully! The public school system is funded by EVERYONE's taxes, even though you don't have kids. It's part of the whole "good of society/benefits everyone" argument. Just throw that back at the next person who tries to say you can't have an opinion on parenting issues. If you choose not to have kids, you are not selfish or hypocritical (on this matter especially). If you have them and choose to keep them, then you've chosen to be a parent. Now step up to the plate and BE one! Especially as it in turn contributes to your kid being a productive member of that society. So there you go, McSwervy -- best way to counter those jerks who say you have no right to criticize bad parenting. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump! So there you go, McSwervy -- best way to counter those jerks who say you have no right to criticize bad parenting. It's really not so much a matter of right; it's more a matter of qualification. I've been around for over 50 years, and have been a parent for over 20 of them; and my experience is that, broadly speaking, those who actually are parents generally understand the nuances and grey areas of parenting better than those who have never had children, even notwithstanding the latter cohort's own age, education or intelligence (like a couple of childless friends of ours who have spent their careers as middle school teachers; some of the presumptuous shit they say about parenting are real doozies). Put another way, I find that those who tend to speak about parenting issues in terms of firm, often judgmental, absolutes more often than not have never had children themselves. (Except for Pentacostalists, who for some reason all seem to do that.)
