Prescription goggles

Recommended Posts

I bought a pair from SportRX a couple of years ago. I think they are the G107 model. After a little more than 200 jumps the elastic strap is getting worn out and the foam padding is starting to peel. The strap is standard wear-and-tear. I never did anything special to protect the goggles, just tossed them in my gear bag at the end of the day, which at least partially explains the foam peeling.

I switched to contact lenses early this year so I've stopped using the goggles. The non-prescription version of my goggles are only about $25, so if I were still using them I'd probably just ask SportRX to put the lenses in a new set of frames.

I think I got my $115 worth.

OK in my short time on DZ.com this subject has come up about 5 times, a search will reveal heaps of info.
BUT Sport Rx seem to be the most prevalent scripted goggles. I run a pair of G102s and I have a VERY strong script (8-10 Base ground lenses):)
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)

How's yours doing?

I know this should probably be in the gear forum but here goes.

If you knew that Gear & Rigging was where it belonged, why did you post it in General Skydiving and leave it for me to move?

If the subject of your post fits a topical forum, post it there, please. :S

I wear tri-focals! I was wearing goggles over them, but depth perception sucked, & the goggles were always flopping around in freefall. I got a pair of Sport Rx (with my regular scrip) a little over a year ago. For me they are the best. I too had a problem with the foam pealing, a call to Sport Rx & they replaced it.

Marc, were you at Couch this year? If so, I think we may have done some jumps together!:)
