skymama 37 #31 November 7, 2013 I bet she was a great and loving mom who wanted to be a good role model for her kids so she acted in a way that was, in her mind, the image of who a proper mom should be. Now that she sees that she's done a good job at raising her kids to be fine adults, she can finally relax a little because her job is done (although it's never really over). She was always this person, she was just behaving. And, yes, I may be able to relate to her just a bit. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Boomerdog 0 #32 November 7, 2013 Don't know if it applies to everyone. As for me…at 58, I'm still a wild ass, wise ass when I want to be…it's just that I'm a bit more careful where I demonstrate that behavior.

wmw999 2,588 #37 November 7, 2013 There are things kids just don't want to know about their parents . promise5 17 #40 November 7, 2013 Oh hell no!! I'm not posting pics of my mom's tat!!! Though I'll admit it is pretty cool. It's the north wind that starts on her foot then swirls around her leg a few times to the top of her leg. She also has snowflakes that represent special people in her life including us kids. Maybe the problem I'm having is not the possiblity of a mid life crisis but that the stories I've heard about her before she became a mom might be true. If so then Crap she has been behaving!!No matter how slowly you say oranges it never sounds like gullible. Believe me I tried.

davjohns 1 #48 November 7, 2013 I can see it. You spent decades being reliable, working, taking care of others. The kids are out of the house. Your career (at least the first one) might be drawing to a close. Maybe it's time to try something new. Maybe you think you missed something while you were working and going to school during your early 20s. Personally, I've been trying to find a balance between fun time and responsibilities for the past few years. Hardly a crisis. Sounds like your mom is returning to her roots.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
