swisschris62 0 #28 November 26, 2013 You do know most of what you see on that show is staged and fake....right? The driver Dave Redmond I've known for years. He used to lease on where I'm at.He really is a hot head like he is on the show. When he interviewed for the show they liked that he was out spoken and a hot head and thought it would be good for the " show". They wanted him to act like a nut and would make him retake scenes over and over which would piss him off even more. If you know what your looking at you realize how ridiculous some of their "scenes" are. It's like a comedy. I've only watched bits and pieces of episodes mostly just to get a laugh at what they try to pass off as "real".

Just like so much of the other "reality" shows I don't care to see. I really hope Coast Guard Marathon, Alaska, et al are all on the level though... who knows?Always be kinder than you feel. promise5 17 #33 November 26, 2013 Alaska state troopers is a better bet. My brother in law is a trooper though he hates being on the show and avoids it as much as he can. Though there are a few that now feel like superstars and stay on the show as much as possible. No matter how slowly you say oranges it never sounds like gullible. Believe me I tried. quade 4 #34 November 26, 2013 Tink1717I know all of that is totally unreasonable in the 21st century... Yes, it is. Quote...but this whole poverty thing sux ass. Yes, it does. As far as I can tell, there is no business in the country that is willing to train anyone for a job any more. They want "perfect" workers, with "perfect" histories and social media profiles, and they want workers with qualifications far beyond what the job actually requires. Oh, and they also want them to share their same political and religious beliefs even if they can't technically ask questions like that during an interview which is why they'll absolutely stalk your social media profile to find out before they'll even talk with you anyway ('cause that's not illegal). So, yeah, the poverty thing does suck ass because there's very little in the corporate or manufacturing world in terms of jobs to replace the crappy job you might have. That said, this isn't going to change for the better; ever. That ship has sailed. There are no great solutions here other than skilling up in some needed profession. It will take years and there's no guarantee once you become skillful you'll find a job either or that a profession you once thought was viable remains viable. The only thing that is guaranteed is simply complaining about it will never improve your situation. So, rather than saying your job sucks . . . what is it that you want to DO. Forget the benefits. What is it you want to DO and is there a realistic path that you can go down to actually get there?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Tink1717 2 #36 November 26, 2013 That's the thing. There's lots I'd like to do, but it turns out i'm not qualified to do anything. Employers want the expirience of a fifty year old, the resume of a post doc, the capability of a thirty year old, but are only willing to pay the salary of a teen ager.
