Yum. Fresh Salad. (Shameless brag)

Recommended Posts

Came home for lunch . . .

walking by the garden, grabbed a head of Romaine lettuce, some garlic chives, a large green pepper, a medium purple pepper picked about 20 green beans, a nice large green onion, a small bib lettuce, a few sprigs of arugula, 4 cherry tomatoes, and a celebrity tomato.

Chopped all that up . . .

Then a few stor bought items: a few small diced cheddar cheese cubes, a dash of pepper . . . then some chopped pecans, sliced almonds, and sunflower seeds then I added some home made ranch dressing, voila . . . Yum.

Even have some left over for dinner.

Of course it won't be quite as fresh as it was at lunch . . . but . .. :)

I didn't think they allowed vegetables that aren't deep fried in Texas. :P

LOL... I think it's sweet Turtle sounds so proud of his garden and it's bounty!! :)
He should be. That sounds like an awesome salad.

There are few things tastier than fresh picked veggies from your own garden.
Mine is done for the year (it's cold up here already), but I've done one every year since 2000.
Well worth the time and effort. Not much cost either. I spend about $10-$15 per year.

I think if I did that my groundhogs would think it was planted just for them...
