There is a general term for anesthesia that causes anterograde amnesia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_anesthesia I've had it for some outpatient surgeries and once for a colonoscopy. It is really weird waking up sitting in a chair in a room I'd never seen before, wondering how I got there.
