Bars - Live Cams - Yes or No

One of my favorite bars in Key West just posted they now have 3 Web Cams: Stage (that one's been up for a while), Bar and Street View. I have no problem with the stage view as I like to log on and listen to some of my favorite performers (RIP Jared Michael Hobgood).

However, the bar cam kind of creeps me out. I think it's going to take away from me (and other people I know) being as uninhibited as we'd normally be while hanging out, acting like idiots and dancing fools.

It's bad enough in Sloppy Joe's you can see some of the dance floor and their street cam has great resolution. But now there's 2 of my happy places with creeper cams.

Would this bother you or would it keep you from going into a place to let loose for the whole world (or your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/boss) to possibly see?

Just wondering....
Oh.... and the cams have sound and you can actually hear some conversations.

As an example, on the Irish Kevin's street cam, it's broadcasting the bouncer's conversation which I'm hoping was supposed to be private.

If I choose to post a pic while on vacation, which I do, although they're publicly not visible others can see. I hate I can't trust people.

Makes me wonder how many places we've been to that has exactly that and we didn't know. I have a feeling there's some kind of disclaimer posted by the entrance of these places that you consent to use your image blah blah blah be entering the premises. A very small sign, I bet.

I've been to events where there's a poster sized disclaimer sign that if you enter the events (charity gala, fishing tournament awards banquet, etc.) that's your permission to be featured in any social media or other form of advertisement for said event/venue/etc. I have no problem with that as it's usually tasteful pictures about do-gooder stuff, but a bar live feed... damn. It's just way too invasive for me to be comfortable. Do you want your boss or vindictive coworker to see you stumbling around doing the Duval Crawl or worse.... screen shots or recording the video feed?

I think I'm going to think about writing an email to both bars about the cam on the bar areas. I'm probably going to sound like a paranoid wack job and it'll fall on deaf ears. Like I mentioned earlier, I have no issue with the stage cams. It's the feed of the patrons (with sound FFS) that concerns me.

Just so you know, you gotta have a technique for lifting the shirt. We discussed SJ's street cam a couple of weeks ago on Facebook and here's what one of my friends said: "Look how dead Duval is. And some blond just tried to flash the street cam but didn't get the shirt quite high enough."

Luckily, I was informed this morning the little bar in the back of SJs is probably out of any camera range. I looked and I didn't see it scan to that area. YAY!

I didn't get "caught" on a cam but I did get "caught" in a bar in Key West by friends from home while I was having lunch with a friend who is a scuba instructor and we were between our morning/afternoon dives. They took a cell phone pic and sent it to my now exBF. Assholes.
