Question for internet geeks

Recommended Posts

First of all, Merry Christmas.

Next:

Is there a way to stop extensions "installed by a third party" from being installed in Chrome?

Failing that, is there a way to find which "third party" did the installing?

I keep getting junky ad extensions installed, presumably by some scummy site. (I hope it's not DZ.COM).
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

My understanding is that Google is trying to limit thrif-party extensions at this time by allowing only those extensions submitted for review thru the Google Store.

I use a free add-in called Ghostery to block a lot of third party apps... https://www.ghostery.com/ As an example; it blocks five trackers from dz.com

Hope this helps.. Merry Christmas to you also.

Found this...

Block unwanted plugins/phishing

Go to Chrome menu > Preferences > Show advanced settings... > click the Privacy/Content Settings button.
Scroll down to Plug-ins, chose "Block all".
