normiss 893 #2 January 31, 2014 Heard it on NPR this morning. I call bullshit. Simply copying the cheap social advertising efforts of Amazon.
JohnMitchell 16 #3 January 31, 2014 I call BS that the little drone could lift a half rack of bottles. I'm sure that was shot with an empty box being flown.

kallend 2,147 #6 February 1, 2014 JohnMitchell I call BS that the little drone could lift a half rack of bottles. I'm sure that was shot with an empty box being flown. The drone in the video is a DJI Flamewheel F550. I have one (pic attached). I use mine to carry a GoPro. The F550 can lift a payload of maybe 500g (about a pound) and still have a reasonable flight time. Although a "heavy lift conversion" is available, the model in the video did not have this. It had the standard DJI 2212 motors, not high power motors. It was also carrying 2 heavy battery packs, a camera and FPV video system, which would cut down on its payload. No way it would lift a full pack of beer. In fact, even with the heavy lift conversion I doubt it would lift a full pack. Breitbart lies again.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
JohnMitchell 16 #7 February 2, 2014 Yeah, just looking at the disc area for the props, my TLAR (that looks about right) estimator said "no way." Thanks for the info.
