What's your canopy risk score?

***My score is 30 and I haven't jumper since 2006. I would say it could use some tweaking. :)

Sounds like you're good to go. B|

By making a small canopy change I can get up to 64. Now that should be fun. B|

Then again, I only have a total of 52 lifetime skydives, and 2 of those were tandems! After reading the article, I'm certain that this survey is not for someone like me anyway, with so few skydives to start with. Plus, "52" skydives puts me in the 50-200 group.

Also, why would I have done a lot of high hop & pops? I've done a lot of H&Ps specifically to work on canopy skills (more than 5), but none above 5K. My home DZ only offers H&Ps up to 5K anyway (as well as any other DZ I've checked out), so not sure why the survey insists on "above 5K" as a criteria.

>I've got you all beat. I scored a 40!

Ha! 43.

Yes, by all means . . . lets compete to see who is the most risky canopy pilot.

:D:D:P

I kid . . .

Really I do.:)

Wondering how high the score can go? I'm done with lunch break but if anybody wants to fiddle with the questionnaire to jack up the score, let me know how it worked. :D

I got 77!B|

HAH! I just one-upped ya! 78!! :D:D:D

***Evidently adding a go pro would not be a factor for someone new.

I think number of jumps is heavily weighted. I practice all of those skills regularly. It didn't seem to count.

I tried it again with a larger canopy. It still came out high. According to this calculator, me skydiving is just highly risky.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I should run the numbers for a first jump student. Possibly this sport is too dangerous to try. ;):D

They don't even have an option for less than 21 jumps. If you fill it in with the lowest selection allowed and a 260 square foot rectangular canopy, you get a 58. That's actually less bad than I'd have expected it to be. You still get a lecture that you should land well away from people and not try anything fancy under canopy. That's actually basically what you're going to do as a first jump student anyway.
I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?
