Nataly 38 #1 March 9, 2014 Does anyone know how to take out the vocals from a song to turn it into a karaoke version?? I have tried many different ways but I keep loosing the base or the drums (or both)... This is the song I would like without the singer: http://youtu.be/C67Xtingeqk Tips and tricks would be much appreciated."There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
quade 4 #2 March 9, 2014 It all comes down to how the song is mixed. A typical mix has the vocals centered so it's fairly trivial to invert one channel of audio and then whatever is centered cancels itself out. However, if the drums, bass or something else is centered, then you're also going to lose that as well. Some songs are fairly trivial, others are simply impossible. Also, while it's cool to be able to do this for purely personal use, it's unethical to do this for any commercial use. You want a song without the lyrics for commercial use of any kind (underlining an internal business presentation would count), contact the artist.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Nataly 38 #3 March 9, 2014 This makes sense because I split the tracks, inverted and BOOM - the vocals are gone, but so is the base and drums... I agree, and I did contact the band and they said I was welcome to use their music and sing along (it's for a very small, very local concert in which I will be singing) but that they did not have an instrumental recording without the lead singer. I just sent them a second email asking if I could pay them to record an instrumental version for me... In the meantime, it would still be useful to find a half-way decent way to take out the singer for me just to practice... It doesn't need to sound perfect, just not horrible...
