efs4ever 3 #1 October 24, 2004 I was just tossing this around with my rigger. I've got a mint condition ParaCommander in a conventional rig. B4 and belly wart is not my favorite configuration, so I was wondering if i could just put the PC on tandem risers and stick it into my tandem rig. Seems doable. Could probably use the hot dog type pilot chute inside the container and close it up with the golf ball pin. (Sigma) The only thing I'm concerned about is the long closing loop. Of course I wouldn't want someone picking up my rig and strapping on a rider Anyone? Bill, don't shit a brick on this one!! Russell M. PhreeZone 20 #2 October 24, 2004 A Comp PC will fit in something about the size of a J5-J7 In Javelin sizing. I'd think that its going to be a little small to pack into a Sigma. I jumped one last year in a piggyback with a sleeve and a BOC, thats the way to go in my opinion.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
sundevil777 102 #3 October 24, 2004 Don't do it! I'm sure you had plenty of soft stand-ups with PC's when we were young, I did too, but they weren't all soft . But when I see young guys that don't weigh much pound in fast when they do a nostalgia jump, I don't want that kind of trip down memory lane, thank you. Somebody else will want to do it, just watch them and enjoy it vicariously, you'll still get a kick out of it. Save yourself - just don't do it. (I really am serious) People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

AggieDave 6 #5 October 24, 2004 What, did you finally talk Kim Fuller out of his very crisp PC? Forgive me for the question, but is it legal to use a PC in a RWS tandem, would it be considered a demo jump with a tandem system?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." sundevil777 102 #7 October 24, 2004 QuoteHey, I jumped it six times last year at 270+ exit weight. No problem. You foolish person, why do you tempt fate so? Seriously, stop while you're in one piece! Or at least just let others try to bust themselves up. 270 lbs! The speed at which I saw one land recently at 100 pound less than that was scary. You must have a heck of a PLF. I'm not going there again on purpose, some things are better left in the past, or at least done with a Jumbo-28 ft (you need extra Jumbo PC)People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. AggieDave 6 #9 October 24, 2004 My understanding was that any jump involving the tandem system, passenger or not, is considered a tandem jump. I'm only asking because I'm trying to clarify my understanding.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

sundevil777 102 #12 October 24, 2004 At least be wise enough to not use tiny, round reserves, especially if they mount low on the harness. Their descent rate is .... well it hurts! nitrochute 2 #13 October 24, 2004 .i think hes reffering to the piggyback rig(single harness dual parachute 1 person) as a tandem rig.it used to be a common term back in the day.i dont think he is talking about tandem rig in todays sense( dual harness ,dual parachute,2 people strapped together)
PhreeZone 20 #14 October 24, 2004 No, by mentioning the golf ball and stuff he's referning to putting it into his RWS Sigma tandem container.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Is it an actual tandem rig if the student harness isn't utilized? We use a tandem rig to carry our oversize flag on demos, as do a couple of other demo teams... I'd offer it to ya to use..but it's pretty clean, and that PIC of your PLF.... well you know.. ....We have a mutual friend at LSPC that has a hog it would fit in... round reserve, but at least not a WART! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
