AggieDave 6 #2 October 20, 2004 Here ya go, not the best pic but you can definately see where my hip rings sit. My rig is suuuuper comfy..so if you're doesn't feel quite right then it may not be right.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." bigway 4 #3 October 20, 2004 yeah.... cheers for the pic, my rings seem to sit ther, i guess it is probably just paranoia, you know spending a fortune on everything and having it delivered via 2 different countries.. anyway, cheers, dave. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . bigway 4 #4 October 20, 2004 just have not had a rig on my shoulders for a while i guess. Love it though, i really like how it closes up securing the bridle so there is no exposure. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
BIGUN 1,483 #5 October 20, 2004 IF they sit on you where they sit on AD, you're good to go. Shut up and skydive. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
flyangel2 2 #6 October 20, 2004 Those are the best I can find to show where my ring sits. Mostly on my hip. Do you have canopies in the rig when you are trying it on? That will make it fit better.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. bigway 4 #7 October 20, 2004 my canopies are there, they sit right, i just got that paranoid feeling of the main web lift being a bit short, just a bit though. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
mr2mk1g 10 #8 October 20, 2004 Had the same thought when mine arrived and contacted wings. Wings hip rings sit slightly higher than other rig designs. They're supposed to be like that. It has to do with the way the leg straps have been designed and the geometry of the articulation point. When comparing the system to my mates jav (for example) the whole thing makes a lot of sense. bigway 4 #9 October 20, 2004 thanks, i am going to be on the safe side though and have a rigger over here check it out, i mean, my g/f did the measurments. we will see, i am still going to jump it!! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
bigway 4 #10 October 20, 2004 i have just been reading other threads on replacing harnesses. after reading these i feel i should add that if my measurments are wrong this would be no fault of the manufacturer as i feel it would be my own fault. Secondly on all these threads it seemed that wings sorted the problem out for these people but there was never a conclusion. i am wondering a worst case scenario here....if i was to have the whole harness replaced does anyone know what sort of cost this is? i am going to a master rigger this weekend but would love an idea so i have a heads up. thanks. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . SkymonkeyONE 4 #11 October 20, 2004 Question: does your rig have cut-in laterals? And if so, have you ever jumped another rig with them? If you have not, then I can tell you that such rigs feel a lot different than those without cut-ins.
bigway 4 #12 October 20, 2004 cut ins.....yes never jumped one before. I have not jumped this yet but the strain pulling down on my shoulders is not natural. and it takes quite an effort to raise my hands over my head(arch). however i am taking it to get looked at and if you read my thread customer service, i know i always have another option, but would not want to waste their time because i am paranoid. It feels like one of those things that just aint right. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
AggieDave 6 #13 October 20, 2004 You could always put the rig on, get pics taken from different angles and send the pics to Sunrise Rigging to see what they say. I'm sure they could look at the fit and tell you if the harness looks like it is sized wrong or not.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." bigway 4 #14 October 20, 2004 yeah i have, Ankie has been great, she is sending new leg straps out and will replace the harness if need be for no cost..my fault too. Great girl! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
AggieDave 6 #15 October 20, 2004 Ankie and crew are great over there. The hardware corroded on my Wings in little under 2 years I had it, I overnighted them my rig, Henri himself picked the harness apart, replaced the hardware with stainless (for only the cost at their cost of the hardware) and overnighted it back to me. He did all the work the day he got the rig and had it shipped that afternoon. If that's not well above and beyond customer service, I don't know what is.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Deuce 1 #19 October 21, 2004 You rig will soften up when you start jumping it. Yes, it should be comfortable out of the box, but I think after a day of jumping it, it'll conform to you better. Harness inputs with those cut in laterals really improve canopy flight as well. Jump it!
