kallend 2,150 #1 August 4, 2014 100 years ago today Britain declared war on Germany following Germany's invasion of Belgium, sending the world into a tragic state of devastation never seen before. Five of my uncles fought in that war, one of whom was gassed on the Somme. Four of my aunts were nurses in military hospitals. (Yes, big family). Let's hope we never see the like of it again.... BillyVance 35 #2 August 4, 2014 My great-grandfather had 5 brothers who all fought in Europe. Amazingly all 5 survived and went back home to lead productive lives. Nobody could get much out of them about their experiences so the untold stories went with them to their graves.
