BillyVance 35 #2 September 11, 2014 Spent the most part of the last 20 years in physical and joint pain. He was 7'-2" tall. Already hobbling around when he did the Happy Gilmore movie. Rest easy, Jaws. lawrocket 3 #5 September 11, 2014 Billy is right. He was pretty hobbled over the last couple of decades. He lived just north of Fresno in Oakhurst and has been regarded as an extremely kind and very gentle guy who stayed under the radar. But was pretty hobbled. He apparently broke his leg a week ago and died at St. Agnes. I also remember him from the original Longest Yard. "I told you I broke his neck!" RIP My wife is hotter than your wife. SkymonkeyONE 4 #12 September 14, 2014 His real name was't even Richard Kiel, but he was pretty fucking cool. He used to fly his helicopter to Lake Wales and Z hills back in the day and hang out. Tom and Deb Dellibac used to be pretty good friends with him.
tkhayes 348 #13 September 14, 2014 I was introduced to him here at Skydive City maybe 7 years ago, he was a friend of the Dellibac's actually. passing through flying his helicopter or something like that. Had a house and airport south of Lake Wales, and he certainly did not appear to be that old.
grimmie 186 #14 September 15, 2014 My cousin used to have a recording studio in West Covina, CA back in the 70's. They did some movie sound stuff and met Richard during one of their projects. He was a pretty cool guy. He showed up at one of our family reunions and took a photo with my 6'5 cousin. He towered over him.
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #15 September 15, 2014 He was also the hitman "Reace" in "Silver Streak", the first Richard Pryor/Gene Wilder movie (His character was killed on top of a train with a speargun). And he was the Chetnik Captain, Droznik (sp?) in "Force 10 From Navarone" the bad movie from the rather good Alistar MacLean book (sequel to "Guns Of Navarone"). And who can forget the head "Kanamit" in the Twilight Zone "To Serve Man" (It's a cookbook)?"There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
