freeflyfree 0 #1 October 15, 2004 I'm ready to order a new slider...I bought my canopy used and got new lines but the previous owner seemed to not have paid attention to the slider bumpers, anyway the brass in the slider is nicked and chiped like you won't believe...it seems like the gromets filed down with the friction of the lines at opening...so I was thinking in replacing the slider.... who makes the best slider out there? snag proof...and that offers the least resistance once it's collapsed? AggieDave 6 #2 October 15, 2004 Since you have a Jedi, have you considered contacting Big Air Sports?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
freeflyfree 0 #3 October 15, 2004 Of course www.bigairsportz.com would come to mind as a first and most ovious choice...but I was hoping to hear from people like packers or gear dealers that have come across a variety of canopies and slider designs. Just an opinion on what manufactures or private rigger that hass the best slider design outhere... Felipe-- Blue Skies NO FEARS, NO LIMITS, NO MONEY... BlindBrick 0 #4 October 15, 2004 IF you can find one with the proper tools, a rigger can put new grommets on for a fraction of the cost of a new slider. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." x3mcam 0 #6 October 15, 2004 You do know that sliders and canopies go hand-in-hand? A specific canopy is usually tested and developed with a slider of specific size and structure. Just keep that in mind.... Tomppa
GravityGirl 0 #7 October 15, 2004 Stick with the slider that was designed for your canopy. Otherwise you may start affecting your openings and flight performance. If you cannot refurbish your existing slider (new grommets), contact the manufacturer for a new one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! PhreeZone 20 #8 October 15, 2004 I totally agree. I had all the grommets replaced, covered shipping both ways for less then $20. New sliders are about $100 and PD sells used ones for about $50.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
okalb 104 #9 October 15, 2004 You can also try to contact Sally Hathaway at Paragon Rigging in Z-hills. She does most of the maintenance on Jedeis these days. I believe other than Brian himself she is the only person that regularly makes Jedei linesets and relines old Jedeis. you can email her at sally@teamsynchronicity.com She is a master rigger and I know she has made plenty of sliders. -OKTime flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
