kallend 2,117 #1 December 6, 2014 These were just shipped about a week ago. I installed one on my guest room TV and my first impression is that it's way better than Chromecast (which is miserable at streaming Amazon video), and somewhat better than Roku (caveat - my Roku is fairly old). Has anyone else tried one?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

skymama 37 #3 December 7, 2014 We have one, but it's still sitting in the box. I don't know what to do with it, but hopefully Normiss will figure it out and let you know. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

normiss 871 #10 December 7, 2014 It was black listed. It took them 4 hours to figure that out! India was no help. Once it was removed from the black list db, works fine. It's actually VERY impressive at streaming. We ordered a second one for use on other TV's. (camper with hot spot!)
ryoder 1,590 #11 December 7, 2014 normissIt was black listed. Can you elaborate? Where was this blacklist?"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.
normiss 871 #12 December 7, 2014 Within Amazon's authentication servers. Shipping took longer than expected so they shut it down.

ryoder 1,590 #15 December 7, 2014 normiss Dude. It's a $20 device! Not like you had to complete the authentication with the correct credentials or anything.... I can't see how maintaining a blacklist does anything but cost them in the support dept. One Monday, an item was shipped to me via USPS "2-day Priority". It arrived Saturday. "2-day Priority"; I do not think that means what USPS thinks it means."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. normiss 871 #16 December 8, 2014 Amazon is seriously sliding in customer support. Other than their digital content, I don't find it worth the money. I'm really on the fence over renewing.
skymama 37 #17 December 8, 2014 Quote You plug it in, put batteries in the remote, and turn the TV on. It's so confusing for me to just get a dvd to play in our house (so many remotes and steps involved!), I didn't even want to attempt the stick. If I do get it to work, I don't really know what it's purpose is. That's all I meant by that. While I do have issues getting electronics to work for me, I'm not completely hopeless! justme12001 0 #22 December 8, 2014 out of curiosity, in what ways is it better than Roku? I have a Roku 2 and a Roku stick, and have had no real troubles with either. I haven't really used any other kind of streaming device, other than my blue ray player that does netflix and pandora.

JohnMitchell 16 #24 December 8, 2014 skymama Then why did we just buy a new DVD player? One of our streamers went tango-uniform. No problem, the DVD player works as a streamer. Now some televisions have those same capabilities. Just like you, I'm seeing a lot of overlap in technology. Meanwhile, DirectTV offers me 900 channels, of which 890 are all crap. We just got a new 26" flat screen TV for the bedroom TV cabinet shelf. Had a 19" that was too small for the space, with a blu-ray/DVD player with wifi streaming apps above it. Now the 26" TV has those streaming apps built-in. I haven't gotten that far into that stuff yet, but I did find over 70 digital channels in addition to the 60 channel basic cable package we have. Too bad only about 6 or 7 of those are worth watching...
