I've been jumping for more than a >decade (1,800+ parachute flights) and I have never liked jumpers and the way they >think everything is unique and amazing. >I just don't like the "for every first you gotta buy beer thing". It is great for the >newbies to help them fit in and as an ice breaker. That's not what it's for. Most people in this sport are alpha males and think they don't need no stinkin' advice. But they still need it as much as anyone else does. And when they are starting things for the first time? That's when they need it the most. That's what the beer does - gets people talking to them about their firsts. Even if they think they don't need it because they are experts and their 'first' isn't like a newbie's. So jumpers who have firsts - stop whining and buy your damn beer. Swallow your pride, head down to the liquor store and hand it out for your firsts. You need advice even if you think you don't, and a case of beer is a small price to pay for it. Experienced jumpers - that beer ain't free. It comes with an obligation to pass on what you learned back when you were buying beer for firsts.

Definitely! So if you are in it for the marketing, get clear or green bottles. If you are in it for the beer, go with brown bottles (or even cans.) muff528 3 #56 December 15, 2014 You guys are waaaaaay too picky. I'll buy the (moderately) good stuff when it's my turn, but I'll drink whatever you bring when it's yours.
