He would also "hug" and snuggle with my other cat. I think this cat just wanted to play with the dog- that "hug" was more of an attempt at a diving tackle but the dog kept ignoring him. And I didn't put catnip on my shoulder to get him to do it either. Cats do all kinds of things out of contentment and affection... Even sometimes hug/tackle. Who knows if it's intentional or if they are "aware" of their feelings... But they definitely have moods, emotions and feelings and they absolutely do demonstrate these through their behaviour. (Even though we sometimes make more of it than we really should.) Anyway, it's super cute regardless!
