JohnMitchell 16 #4 June 24, 2015 I'm surprised the author didn't note that the motto on Virginia's flag, sic semper tyrannis, were the words John Wilkes Booth yelled to the crowd after shooting President Lincoln. normiss 886 #5 June 24, 2015 Florida has long claimed "The red saltire of the Cross of Burgundy represents the cross on which St. Andrew was crucified". Personally, I like the Pocahontas flower girl, but I'd be happier if we dropped four words from the flag. I certainly hope it wasn't to copy Alabama!
