Trafficdiver 8 #26 February 4, 2015 Or it could be that Belichek started benching players for fumbling. In fact Laurence Maroney got shitcaned for not being able to hang on to the ball. They also found out that only one ball was deflated more than a few ticks off 12.5 psi. Total bs story made up by the Colts to discredit the Pats. Nice to see everyone believe it and judge the Patriots before any real proof comes out..
ryoder 1,590 #27 February 4, 2015 Yes, much fuss over nothing. On this month's edition of 60 Minutes Sports, NFL EVP of Football Operations Troy Vincent, in an interview with Arman Keteyian, reveals Colts GM Ryan Grigson was the one who kickstarted the Deflategate controversy. Source: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25027938/ryan-grigson-tipped-nfl-off-to-deflated-balls-in-patriots-colts Eleven of the 12 footballs used in the first half were judged by the officials to be under the minimum of 12.5 PSI, but just one was two pounds under. Many of them were just a few ticks under the minimum. Many of them were just a few ticks under the minimum. I have no idea how much difference it makes, but to a neophyte like me, 'minimum' means 'must not be under', not 'must not be lots under'. I still have no idea why the NFL though it was a good idea to let the teams anywhere near the balls. Surely if they're the ones mandating pressures, it'd be easier if their officials made sure balls we provided at those pressures? Still, for a non-football fan, I'll say this. I enjoyed this superbowl more than the last one.

Maybe...do you know for a fact he made that coaching change in 2006, coinciding with the change in who brings the footballs? Did he not bench players for fumbling prior to 2006? CanuckInUSA 0 #32 February 4, 2015 Coach Carroll should have listened to the ghost of Vince Lombardi versus listening to the ghost of Don Coryell. Because here is a video of the alternate ending of how the Super Bowl could have (should have) finished. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My6v8Oe2TkY PS: not my video, but still funny nonetheless. Can you prove they have been deflating balls since 2006?
yoink 321 #34 May 6, 2015 http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/american-football/32617907 So it looks like the Patriots will be found guilty of deflating match balls. I'd strip them of their superbowl title. It doesn't matter that they were the better team in the end during the match in which the balls were tampered with - they deliberately cheated. If it had been found at the time, maybe the quarterback wouldn't have played the superbowl. Maybe there would have been a repeat of that game... who knows? I'm pretty certain all involved would think a fine and a slap on the wrist is perfectly acceptable in exchange for a superbowl title.

wolfriverjoe 1,523 #37 May 8, 2015 Pfft. Brady is too much of a moneymaker. He won't get suspended. The Pats are too popular. They won't suffer any real consequences. And did you know that Robert Kraft (Pats owner) and Roger Goodell (NFL commish) are close friends? A fine, a slap on the wrist, a couple draft picks, and a "Don't do that again" (again). I'd love to see them stripped of the SuperBowl title. But it is NOT going to happen."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." wolfriverjoe 1,523 #39 May 12, 2015 Well, it was a fine, two draft picks (1st round next year, 4th the year after) and Brady sits 4 games. Nothing for Belichick. Well worth it for the Pats, IMO."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Well worth it for the Pats, IMO. Yep. "Illegal formation" gets you a 5 yard penalty. If the Pats had a 5 yard penalty on every offensive play with a tampered ball I doubt they'd have done very well. The little league team that cheated was stripped of its title. I guess pro football is just less honest than little league.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. BillyVance 35 #42 July 30, 2015 So... Brady and the Patriots' appeal of his 4 game suspension got shot the fuck down. Apparently, Brady having his cell phone destroyed knowing that investigators specifically requested a look at it to review text messages didn't go over well.
