cruelpops 0 #1 August 4, 2015 Do advertisers honestly believe that if a user unknowingly scrolls over their ad and the ad pops up and blocks a portion of the web page, that will miraculously make the user want to click on their ad or visit their website or buy one of their products? I've seen it happen on this website a few times and it's annoying as hell. At least pop-ups can be blocked for the most part.
FlyingRhenquest 1 #2 August 4, 2015 Install adblock plus, scriptblock and ghostery. It makes the whole web-browsing experience significantly less obnoxious. Also, no commercials in Youtube videos.I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?

I use adblock plus so I don't see any advertising on this site. I got fed up and installed it not long after dealing with my first moving pop-up ad. Meso 38 #7 August 11, 2015 I think it's important to realize how many of these ads work. As with us, a lot of our ads come from advertising companies, as do most sites. And while we give the advertising companies a list of what we want and don't want, they sometimes serve stuff that we've explicitly asked not to be served. We have a strong policy against pop-up ads and audio ads, we realize it's annoying and we don't want it on our site. Unfortunately they sometimes serve these ads and our only course of action then is to wait for a user to report the ad to us, and then for us to contact the ad provider and complain and ask them to take it down. Something we do immediately after being alerted to one. How long it takes them to react to it, is unfortunately on them. But we generally push them hard to get it resolved ASAP. Obviously we prefer it when users don't use adblock, cause since we offer a free service on the site, ads are what allow us to keep the site going and if everyone were using adblock, there would definitely be no Dropzone.com
