ryoder 1,590 #1 September 8, 2015 I got the bright idea to put a tripod mount on the accessory panel of my motorcycle, (visible in my Pikes Peak video), so I could put any camera on there to get a nice solid video w/o the distractions of my head moving with a helmet cam. Well, the downside is it picks up vertical shaking. I used to know a guy who used to be a Hollywood Steadicam operator, so that got me interested in learning how the Steadicam works, so I could design something on those principles for the bike. So I started reading up on passive video stabilization techniques. Well, I stumbled across this video by our good friend Smarter-Every-Day Destin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UytSNlHw8J8 But wait, it gets better! Destin's video inspired this: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x226jlc_chicken-powered-image-stabilization_tv "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. BillyVance 35 #2 September 9, 2015 Love the work Destin does, of course he lives in the city I grew up in. But that right there is hysterical. SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 September 13, 2015 Simple solution: dump the GoPro and dig out your old PC-series tape camera. ALL of those cameras had image stabilization.
