Help with riggers ticket

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

My goal is to get my rigger's ticket this winter (michigan weather sucks) and have it for next summer. Hopefully get hooked up with a D.Z. and live off it and just work all day packing/rigging, whatever.

anywho. I need to get licensed!! I've been packing quite a lot (my rig, practicing on rigs, being closely observed and packing others rigs, packing rigs w/ the permission of the individual as they are too lazy to do it and can afford to dish out 5 bucks:)
yeah, so, what are some riggers' courses out there, and how much are they (specifics, plz, or places I can get the info for them) I'm rather strappeed for cash. my other option was to hang out more w/ the riggers on my DZ, try to learn the info on my own, get the book w/ the pool of questions, and try to schedule my practical and test. is this tangeable? anyone heard of anyone doing it?

how much are the practical and test usually? (outside of a course)

Thanks!

That's the most affordable. The test bank is [ url "av-info.faa.gov/data/airmanknowledge/rig.htm" ] Test Bank . Find a rigger that's patient and knowledgeable. Hang out in the rigger's loft, get your hands on every piece of gear you can. my rigger "mentor" made me pack old wonderhogs, mini-hawks, 5 cell reserves, XX military rigs, and even a few round reserves. Also start downloading any manuals you can off the manufacturers' web sites and either print them out or put them on a CD and keep it handy. Contact the [ url "av-info.faa.gov/DesigneeSearch.asp" ] DPRE in your area and ask him for help.
