hookitt 1 #27 December 9, 2003 QuoteIsn't there already a game of sorts called SkyBall? Then call it "I'm going to shoot you with paint while flying my parachute around" It's a great Idea. I'm all for it. Also, if the paint ball puts a hole in a parachute, it's highly unlikey to render it unflyable. It's just a hole. The only way to get one is going to be a point blank or nearly point blank hit. It's all fun and games until there's a canopy collision, then it's just fun.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Yoshi 0 #29 December 9, 2003 count me in as long as whatever dz we are playing at has "RENTAL GEAR" and I would also like to be in on the rules and regulations if possible... that would be fun... (even of a cutaway means end of game for all players, no more than 3-4 people at one time in a game (canopies)...we wouldnt want an unneccessary collision... hmm this could be fun when do we start?_________________________________________ this space for rent. whatever 0 #32 December 9, 2003 How about: ‘Mr. Bill’s Dogfighting Flying Paintball Circus’ ? That should prove fairly descriptive…. I really like the Mr. Bill idea, as it adds the factor of hanging upside from ‘Sluggo’s’ legs while trying to shoot paintballs at another pair. Also, it adds the skill of getting the Mr. Bill working first…. And there’s the teamwork angle, too, very important…. And, just like ‘Top Gun’ pairs of players can have matching dorky nicknames…. As for Darwin, bring it on…. I think you’ll find that risk taking, as a phenotype trait, is connected to the same gene that makes you a skydiver…. It’s all lines in the sand…. Don’t kid yourself that your line is the ‘real’ one and that there aren’t people on the other side of it thinking: ‘Yup, Darwin’ - just because you skydive…. soon to be gone
WayneRATS 0 #33 December 9, 2003 i think you'll find the mr bill idea won't work hanging upside down as markers are gravity fed... therefore the marker needs holding hopper upwards.. airsoft rifles would work ... or as everyone else has said lazer tag.. when you get hit your main cutsaway.. what could be more entertaining------------------------ Can You Ere Me Now? captainpooby 0 #34 December 9, 2003 Quotei think it would be an absolutley stupid idea.. both in terms of canopy saftey and paintball saftey. tandem skydiving is also the most dangerous kind of jumping there is. so why make it MORE dangerous?? there has already been a thread on this here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=762251;search_string=paintball%20canopy;#762251 You have some numbers to back up your assertion that tandem is the most dangerous type of skydiving? In the millions and millions of tandem skydives made all over the world the total fatalities number very few, maybe fifty. AND they happen two at a time so you have 25 or so fatal incidents since tandem skydiving was invented. Compare that to the fatality rate of skydiving in the US. About thirty fatalities per year over a couple million skydives. Sorry, your claim does hold water. Sorry about the hijack.
sarge 0 #35 December 9, 2003 I can't see smuggling paint-ball guns on a load for a multi-way paint-ball jump? But lets say it was possible... How do you set up a jump order for that? ie: "We have the guns, back the fuck up, and give us a looooong count or else you're all covered in paint!" "we're going out first... any objections?" Or better yet... "Don't come any closer... or else I'll jump!"-- I'm done with the personally meaningful and philosophical sigs!!

Ketia0 0 #37 March 9, 2010 Liking this idea... Thought about it before when im walking around at work.. decided to do a forum search.. has this been done to anybodies knowledge? justinb138 0 #38 March 9, 2010 1. Paintball markers have a fairly short range and are pretty inaccurate. 2. Both parties involved would be in motion, making it even more difficult to hit someone than it is on the ground. 3. The proximity required for it could be quite dangerous for the inexperienced, even ignoring the huge distraction that it would cause. That being said, I'm sure someone at some point has tried it.
