flyinghonu 0 #1 September 15, 2004 Newbie Question Ahead: I have a Vector 344. I've been trying and trying to get through to Relative Workshop but I believe they have been busy with bigger problems. Will a Triathlon 175 fit into this container? FYI: I have a MR150 in it. The jumper who had it last said she had a Triathlon 170 in it but after looking more closely, I can't find that there is a Triathlon 170. If they have kept the same sizing scheme, and it's really a Tri 175 - then yes, it will fit but it will be very tight. It is one size larger than recommended, but as RW notes you can go one size larger (although it may look ugly and cause premature container wear.) Bill, since Aerodyne Systems has been building the "new and improved" Triathlon they are packing just a bit smaller. They are now being manufactured out of the Soar Coat type ZP from Dupont, rather than the heavier Galvanor. A bitch to pack but a savings of anywhere between 8% to 15% on the volume (IMO).---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. How long has Aerodyne been manufacturing the "new and improved" version? I'm looking at one manufactured in 2000. diablopilot 2 #5 September 15, 2004 With a 2000 DOM that one is going to be A Galvinore Triathlon from the old Aerodyne Research.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
flyinghonu 0 #6 September 15, 2004 I will be talking with my rigger on Saturday regarding all of this, but in your opinion (and anyone else who wants to chime in), would the old Triathlon version not be suggested as a very good fit for my container? FYI: I will be staying with this canopy for awhile. I also am looking at a Spectre 170. The Spectre has more jumps and is about $400 more than the Triathlon, but I have heard really good things about the Spectre's performance over the Triathlon. diablopilot 2 #7 September 15, 2004 Check this out, it should answer your sizing question. http://www.relativeworkshop.com/products/saldoc_sizing.html As for the Triathlon vs. Spectre, I prefer the Triathlon.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
