It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
CarlJoos 0 #3 May 1, 2016 So where can I watch that original Star Trek pilot, "The Cage", that was rejected by the broadcaster? I'd like to see it...

oldwomanc6 60 #5 May 2, 2016 I remember coming home as a child, and my parents sending us to our bedrooms, which we had to share with our sibs. Myself, and my older sister, my younger sister, who wasn't old enough to do wrong. My brothers were sent to their room, too. We talked through the wall (heater vent) for about 45 minutes about what we we going to all get punished for. We were all at a loss as to what we had all done wrong. Our parents brought us out and showed us this brand new color TV! Just in time to watch StarTrek. Kind of a mean and cool thing to do to a child.lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
oldwomanc6 60 #6 May 2, 2016 Well that was a long and convoluted way of saying Star Trek was the first thing I ever saw in color on TV. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
ryoder 1,590 #7 May 2, 2016 I just watched "The Cage" for the first time. I watched it on my iPad, which when set to full screen solved the aspect ratio problem. It was not bad! It even had hot babe, (who was green part of the time), throwing herself at the captain. And a really, really cute redheaded yeoman! billvon 3,090 #8 May 2, 2016 >Interesting piece of trivia I never knew about Star Trek Another useless bit - Martin Luther King saved the show (at least the original cast) after the first year. Nichelle Nichols was thinking about quitting, and Gene Rodenberry asked MLK to talk to her. He did - and she decided he was the one fan she couldn't say no to.
