akarunway 1 #2 June 2, 2016 Why was the American gunner using an AK I wonder?I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
keithbar 1 #3 June 2, 2016 Well he was cia/air America. A lot of us troops in Vietnam preferred.the ak-47 to the m-16. For some valid reason's. My dad used to tell a story of him arriving in country and talking with a friend. And making tje comment that he had to go deal with the armory and sign for a weapon. The guy says "come with me" takes dad to a wall locker that he opens and says what you want ? Iirc dad said he had a choice of ak-47, m-1 carbine, Grease gun, Thompson sub gun. And more. Being a good old country boy .He picked a 12 gage sawed off and a canvas bag of shells i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . My response. Naw I wasn't low I'm just such a big guy I look closer than I really am .
