Miss Teen USA Ditches Swimsuit Competition

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Re: "Miss Teen USA Ditches Swimsuit Competition in Favor of Athletic Wear"

Well, if they change to that 'athletic wear' that is in the Feb issue of Sports Illustrated, then I'm all for it.

Isn't swimming athletic?

Hi Tri,

Guys, we're talking about childeren!

My mother married at 17. Four weeks after her 19th birthday, she was the mother of two boys.

Children, eh?

PS) I had aunts who were married when they were 15.

Times have changed.

The ages of those contestants is 15 - 19. Under 18 is a minor. They tend to take that more seriously these days.

Not judging, but how many of those who married young ended up having perfectly healthy babies that were a couple months "premature"?

Yes, they have.

However, my mother could still have gotten married today in Oregon; 17 with parental consent, which she had.

As Mr. Dylan sings: Times, they are a'changin.

And I was a 7-month baby, a preemie. However, she had been married about 11 months when I was born.

PS) A few years ago I read of a survey of high school seniors who were no longer virgins; I was dumb-founded.

Well, one thing about high school boys... they may take certain liberties when it comes to saying whether they were virgins or not. I think the percentage of those who are actual virgins are lower. :P

A good friend in high school had some strict religious parents.
Imagine his amusement one day when he was considering his parents wedding date, and his oldest sisters birthday, and...uh, oh!:o:D
